Sri Lanka
February 29, 2008

Donna is in Sri Lanka right now for a wedding - what a journey. Total travel time to get there was about 36 hours. The image above is a bit misleading - she had to connect through NY and Dubai with long layovers at each stop.

Initially I was planning on traveling with her as we always work together but a few weeks before the wedding Sri Lanka ended it’s Ceasefire agreement they had in place with a group in the country called the “Tamil Tigers”. So essentially there is a civil war taking place. When the turmoil started we thought it would be better if both of us weren’t there at the same time.

Because of the travel time associated with the wedding Donna’s away for 7 days. What’s made it much easier though is the video conferencing that I installed before she left. She was able to help me feed the kids from 10,000 miles away!

When it comes to feeding Lauren it’s all about distraction - books, songs, toys, etc. So Donna started doing her song and dance from Sri Lanka as I fed Lauren and to Lauren it was like Donna was right there!

Our Shots on The Oprah Show
February 29, 2008

Imagine our surprise when we were watching Oprah the other day and saw our pictures on the show.

They were interviewing Katherine Heigl and up flashed a full screen shot of Katie and Josh from their wedding!

Growth
February 29, 2008

Our business has been growing so much recently that we’ve had to move to a new office space. We’ve been busy setting everything up for the official first day at the new place which is Monday.

It’ll be really convenient as it’s close to where we live.

Stay tuned for great things in ’08!

The Dead of Winter
February 1, 2008

We’re really enjoying the winter here in South Beach. It’s during these months that we really appreciate the lifestyle here... The weather has consistently been in the low 80s or high 70s every day and is really perfect for anything outdoors.

Today we had a great early dinner at the Ritz Carlton’s Dilido Beach Club which is the only oceanfront restaurant on the beach. We watched the cruise ships sail out and the roller-bladers whiz by.

My mom sends me emails from Vancouver with the subject line reading “Snow Snow and More Snow” which makes me appreciate everything that this area has to offer.

Today it just hit me how fortunate we are to have such a great family, lifestyle, and career.
