Happy Halloween
October 31, 2007

Halloween is always so much fun with kids... Ok, it’s fun for the parents too.

Here in South Beach Halloween is a big event. Lincoln Rd is filled with kids Trick or Treating and all of the shops/restaurants hand out candy to the kids. They also have live entertainment and everybody really gets into the spirit of the night.

After 8pm the kids go home and the adults have a Halloween Party like I’ve never seen. Last year we took the kids out and then enjoyed the late night bash - what a blast.

Today it seems that there is a tropical storm in the Caribbean which is giving us some wind and rain so we are looking for some alternate plans.

Ian took this photo on Sunday of our two Super Heros!

39 Pounds of Photos!
October 29, 2007

We just shipped out Giovanna and Eric’s photos and it came to 39 pounds of pictures from their weekend!

We find that since we typically photograph all of the events around the wedding the clients have quite a selection to choose from for their final album.

Weekend in the Bahamas
October 29, 2007

We just returned from photographing Lauren and Charlie’s wedding in the Bahamas. Every time we go there we like it more and more.

What a wonderful family. It seemed like the wedding guests knew all about us and really connected with our work. When all was done for the weekend we logged over 5,000 photos at the events!

Since we shoot in RAW format with file sizes ranging from 8MB to 14MB per file the amount of data is mind boggling. We now have 8 Terabytes of storage onsite with duplicate copies off-site.

One of our favorite thing to do when we have some down time between shoots is to go to the pool at the Atlantis. A couple of years ago Ian went down their vertical drop water slide called the “Leap of Faith”. It derives its name based on the fact that when you push off the edge of the slide you only see blue sky and no slide below you since it is at such a steep angle. He said he had to do it once but swore he’d never do it again!

I think we’ll take the kids there for our next job and stay a few extra days so they can enjoy all that the island has to offer.

Martha Stewart Weddings
October 17, 2007

What a thrill it was when the mail came today - The Fall issue of Martha Stewart Weddings arrived and we were able to see our photos from the shoot we did for the magazine on location.

They arranged a shoot at the Oheka Castle...What a great spot for photos! The styling and planning that goes into these photoshoots is astounding.
